How to dramatically reverse persistent damage?
Kérastase has discovered the explanation behind persistent damage: CALCIUM!
Damaged hair is porous and absorbs 3 times more calcium from water (vs healthy hair) leading to a calcium overdose.
When in contact with water, calcium builds up and creates persistent damage. Calcium seeps between the keratin chains and breaks their bonds, making hair stiff and easy to break.
On the surface, calcium builds up on the scales, making hair coarse and dull.

Concentration of pure acids
Free hair from calcium overdose with 3% Citric Acid, an organic acid that acts from core to surface, to neutralise dullness and stiffness. Once calcium is removed, 5% Glycine, an amino acid, penetrates the inner layer of the hair to repair it deeply. This reconnects broken bonds between keratin chains, significantly reducing breakage.
